As part of Pathways Education's Enterprise College in Surrey, The Cookie Bar is a social enterprise that provides an environment for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to learn about and experience all aspects of working in a coffee shop . By working at The Cookie Bar, you’ll be leading the coffee shop team and supporting learners on their journeys as they grow in confidence, develop new skills, make friends, and become part of our community.
Pathways is a limited liability company with a social purpose. Approximately 95% of adults with learning disabilities do not find employment, let alone purpose. Our mission is to digitally and physically train, host, and fund re-engagement and social enterprise that creates pathways to opportunities for our young adults to apply their unique strengths into equitable and sustainable roles of personal and social value.
About the role
We’re seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated Coffee Shop Manager who cares about community to lead the running of The Cookie Bar. You’ll be working alongside a brilliant coffee shop team who will support you in all aspects of running the coffee shop. We prefer candidates who are organised, enjoy leading a team, possess a positive work ethic, and who have ideas to enrich the experience of staff, learners, and of course customers. Experience of working with people with SEND is essential as you will manage and take responsibility for learners in partnership with Job Coaches / Teachers day-to-day. You will play a key and enriching role in the students' experience of a real-life working environment as they develop working relationships and participate alongside your team.

Reporting to: Director of Pathways Enterprise Network
Salary: £24,000-£28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Cookie Bar opening hours: Monday-Saturday 8am-4pm (working alternate Saturdays with a day off in the week will be required)
Location: The Cookie Bar, 1 Royal Parade, Tilford Road, Hindhead, Surrey GU26 6TD
Contract type: Full time
